Free Is Bad

Our latest book ghostwriting project is now available.

We’ve worked for over 4 months with entrepreneur and online marketing expert John Marshall, as well as several researchers and illustrators, to help shepherd this book to reality. It was a pleasure meeting virtually with John every week, helping organize his thoughts, establish themes, structure the content and turn it all into a published and printed reality.

We also distilled the full-length 350+ page book into a shorter 76-page “TL:DR” version for those readers who prefer a primer.

In the process, we learned a ton about the history of the internet, digital marketing, and how it’s evolved into an expectation for free stuff — at the expense of our privacy and security.

What’s it about?

If you’re at all concerned with web privacy, data mining, and how search engines, email, smartphones and social media track your online activities, this book is for you.

If you worry about how biased news is causing division and blurring the line between fact and opinion, this book is for you.

Learn the history of how we got in the mess we’re in, how the ad-tech industry has corrupted the quality of web services and information, and what you can do to protect your privacy and make smart choices.

Very proud to be a part of this project.

(John has given us permission to broadcast our participation as ghostwriters. 😉 )
